I was leery about ordering these plates and my husband wanted me to return them once we received them. He didn't like the texture on the plate and I was leery as well. We thought they might be hard to clean and feel odd or awkward to eat off of the textured surface. We have had for about a month and we really like them. No issues with the surface. We have the matching bowls which have the texture on the outside of the bowl, not sure why they didn't do this for the plates as well. But in any case, the texture has not been an issue. The color was exactly as I expected.
